TRUMPETER – COMPOSER – EDUCATOR

For over 25 years, trumpeter Eric Siereveld has built a reputation as a multifaceted performer, composer and educator. Equally adept as a classical, jazz, and commercial musician, Eric’s experience is an asset in every musical situation. As a jazz musician, he is deeply influenced by the hard bop/post bop tradition, his compositions and improvisations are historically rooted and refreshingly modern. He is the leader of the Organic Quintet, a fresh take on the classic organ jazz quintets of the 1960’s. This group features LA based tenor saxophonist Bill Todd, Indianapolis organist Steve Snyder, NYC guitarist Tony Davis, NYC drummer Carmen Intorre, Jr., and special guest trombonist Steve Davis.

Their recent recording, “Sweet William” released on Shifting Paradigm Records features all original compositions from the pen of Siereveld (with assistance from Stevie-D). A veteran of the New York City music scene, in 2018 Eric relocated to Monroe, LA where he serves a the Associate Professor of Trumpet and Program Coordinator of Jazz and Commercial Music at the University of Louisiana Monroe. In addition to his teaching duties, he is a member of the Black Bayou Brass, the Lagniappe Brass, Trio DeSaird, the Jazz Navigators, the Shreveport Symphony, the Monroe Symphony and directs the nationally recognized program “Talons for Taps.” Eric is a Yamaha Performing Artist, and plays Yamaha Trumpets and Flugelhorns. He is also a TorpedoBags Performance Artist and endorsing artist for The Silencer.
